Apple tv pictures not updating
I’m using i Cloud too and my Photo Stream pictures show up right away, so it seems the Apple TV is updating something, but I can’t figure out why it takes so long for pictures I’ve added on my computer to actually show up. The Apple TV doesn’t actually access your photo libraries or folders directly, but instead picks them up through i Tunes in much the same way as your music, movie and TV show content.
This means that it’s actually are concerned—the scan for new items in folders only occurs when i Tunes is first opened, so you’ll actually need to restart i Tunes in order to scan for and pick up any changes.
You can use this feature at the same time as i Cloud Photo Sharing but it is not available with i Cloud Photo Library.
If you don’t want to use i Cloud you can also stream images to your Apple TV using Air Play. It gathers all your images within one page and tries to make them look beautiful.
This collection gathers all your images and videos in the order in which they were taken.
You navigate through the collection with your Siri Remote, to see an item in full screen just select and click on the image.
Ask i Lounge offers readers the opportunity to get answers to their i Pod-, i Phone-, i Pad-, i Tunes-, or Apple TV-related questions from a member of the i Lounge editorial team.
The good news is that you need to restart i Tunes in this case, and not the Apple TV itself.
In all likelihood you’re not seeing updates based on a schedule, but rather based on whenever you actually restarted i Tunes.
We reserve the right to edit questions for grammar, spelling, and length. I recently bought a new Apple TV and set it up to share a folder of photos on my computer via i Tunes.
Unfortunately, when I add new photos to any of these folders, they seem to take a really long time—sometimes a day or two—to actually appear on my Apple TV.
